Plasticisers and Flexible PVC Information

ECPI is a founding member of VinylPlus, the new 10-year commitment of the European PVC industry which builds upon the achievements of the Vinyl 2010 programme.

VinylPlus takes the next important steps in tackling the sustainability challenges for PVC and also in establishing a long-term framework for the on-going sustainable development of the PVC value chain.

What are phthalates?

Electrical cables, film, clothing and footwear, automotive components, flooring, and wall-coverings achieve their unique qualities of colour, flexibility, softness and feel as a result of the plasticisers that are used in their production.

ECPI has considerable information available on a wide range of plasticisers including phthalates which are the most widely used.
